Manage the Projects and fixed asset accounting and related activities of the relevant Energy Operational areas.

Provide proactive financial decision support to heads of functions/business areas and enable financially prudent decision making.

Manage the implementation and maintenance of sound financial management and reporting practices and controls.

Ensures compliance to company projects & fixed asset policy and accounting standards and all governance adhered to.

Manage effective, accurate, and timely reporting to internal stakeholders

Building and maintaining strong internal networks is key in order to successfully execute the mandate of the function

Provides relevant and accurate capital and fixed asset related forecasting and budgeting information.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

The main responsibility includes:

  • Manage key financial reporting deliverables to internal stakeholders such as functional leaders, Energy Finance, Group Finance, RDO etc.
  • Monthly management reporting to senior management Energy business and Group.
  • Oversee and supervise the Budget and Forecasting process and lead Budget / Forecast discussions with functional leaders.
  • Manage inputs into the integrated value chain (IVC) impairment process.
  • Ensure proper governance (SOX, internal controls, adherence to policies and procedures and international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
  • Identify opportunities to increase the use of technology and implement, mindset of continuous improvement
  • Drive current digitalisation initiatives
  • Effectively manage the teams supporting Secunda, Sasolburg, Mining and other operational areas

Formal Education

Chartered Accountant (CA (SA)

Post Graduate Honours Degree (B Compt Hons specifically) with completed articles

Min Experience

8+ relevant years

4+ years in a manager’s position
