A process Engineer II will utilise authoritative levels of experience in process engineering to manage and / or execute the design, engineering, development and modification of processes in accordance with sound established engineering principles and standards to satisfy business requirements. Will apply a broad base of process engineering generalist knowledge and competence and a fundamental understanding with regards to process equipment (e.g., Design and safe operation thereof). Will provide technical leadership to others in process engineering support of plant(s).
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Accountabilities in Operations Technical Role:
Define, defend and enhance complex / value chain performance and translate input into meaningful steps for the improvement plan.
Develop and execute process engineering related continuous improvement (CI) roadmaps for operational units, with the intent of enabling step change and incremental improvement with respect to production volumes, environmental impact, safety, feedstock efficiency and energy efficiency.
Review plant / value chain OWAP and identify optimisation opportunities for the operating units within the value chain.
Understand overall business drivers in order to generate technical improvement opportunities.
Deliver technical track process engineering related deliverables for especially small projects executed by the OME in accordance with sound established engineering principles and standards to satisfy business requirements.
Responsible for delivery on process engineering requirements for front end engineering design for allocated projects executed by the OME.
Perform a technical guiding and coaching role to other engineers, especially Eng I’s and EITs.
Overall: Support process engineering delivery, primarily focusing on continuous improvement (CI), resolution of especially complex plant support issues and project design & implementation elements.
In a project delivery environment:
Design and execute the commissioning and start-up of process plants.
Formulate and execute the process engineering scope for small to medium multidisciplinary projects.
Apply lessons learned and ensure timely input/feedback to identified specifications and procedures.
Provide information to support the sharing of knowledge with regards to engineering and technical field of expertise to share with disciplines and/or technology management.
Select and implement up to date tools and standards.
Ensure application of appropriate workflows.
Provide input into Technical execution strategies including licensing, in-house technology development and appropriate use of ECs.
Identify key technical risks leading to effective technology selection and support the successful execution thereof.
Contribute to the development and management of the engineering execution plan with respect to process engineering.
Ensure application of engineering execution plans, implementing and driving all process engineering activities and deliverables to closure.
Provide predictable schedules describing all process activities.
Ensure functional delivery and contributions.
Hold and Review plan and Engineering Track Quality Plan (ETQP) executed and tracked continuously.
Ensure compliance to environmental, safety and legal specifications.
Ensure project success by adherence to cost, schedule and quality targets for project scope.
Ensure process deliverables are executed and issued as per agreed schedule commitments.
Generate ideas within the portfolio and ensure technical decisions.
Other:
Interpret and translate business requirements into a process engineering strategy to enable OME to safely meet production targets.
Manage and develop people in the team.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and innovation.
Be responsible for own performance management.

Formal Education
Minimum B. Eng. (Chemical) or B. Sc. (Chemicals Eng.)
Min Experience
B. Eng. (Chemical) or B. Sc. (Chemicals Eng.) with a typical minimum of 8 years and absolute minimum of 6 years (in demonstrated exceptional performance cases) relevant experience.
M. Eng. (Chemical) with an absolute minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
