- Have a good knowledge of African, World and Contemporary Literature
Minimum requirements
- Phd in English Literature or relevant qualification
- Teaching experience at university level (7 – 10 years)
- Proven research record and publications in Literature or related fields
- Proven track record of supervising Masters and/or PhD students in Literature or related fields
- Work effectively as part of a team and relate well with colleagues and peers
- Proven publication records in peer-reviewed journals
- Supervision and teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Research interest in Literature or related fields
- Support and mentor junior staff members
- Be actively involved in community engagement projects
- Online facilitation of teaching-learning and blended learning
- Facilitation of teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Develop courses/modules in Literature
- Conduct independent research and exhibit a proven research record
- Provide postgraduate supervision
- Handle large undergraduate classes
- Deal with administrative tasks when required
- Computer literacy – Knowledge of Microsoft package
